DOWNTOWN 81
Film Screening and After-Party
hosted by the Junior Circle to benefit Guild Hall's Capital Campaign
Saturday, September 29th, 6 p.m.
JC members will host this exciting, fund-raising event in September to contribute towards Guild Hall’s Capital Campaign to complete its restoration project. We will have the pleasure of the company of Maripol and Glenn O’Brien, co-producers of Downtown 81, who will present their film in the Boots Lamb Education Center at Guild Hall. Our guest of honor for the evening will be Billy Sullivan, whose exhibition is on view in the galleries through October 21.
Downtown 81 stars Jean-Michel Basquiat along with a slew of other amazing personalities of the 80s, depicting a slice of life from one of the most exciting periods in American culture, with the emergence of new wave music, new painting, hip hop and graffiti.

A perfect complement to the Billy Sullivan exhibition, the event includes the film screening followed by a Rum Bar reception and live music by TRIPLEFREQ.
This benefit event is open to the public and tickets are $50. JC members are admitted free so sign up your friends and colleagues, or invite them for a night to celebrate the movers and shakers of the 80s New York underground!
Capacity is limited so please reserve in advance.
